The kids' pirate boots have a faux leather look to them and an over-sized cuff that comes down to the middle of the boot. The cuff can lace up for a tighter or looser fit. They also have a zipper in the back, soft lining made out of foam for comfortable walking and grips on the sole to ensure traction on slippery ship decks.
